Your Ecommerce Toolkit Command Center
The Web Merchant eManager(tm) is the command center for your eCommerce Tools! Any and all activity that deals with the eShopping Cart, Web Order Database System (tm), Reports, File Downloads, ChargeTrack(tm), eTerminal(tm) etc., all originate from this easy-to-use web page.

The Web Merchant eManager is organized into the following sections:

  1. Configuration and Setup
Your Account, eShopping Cart, Sales Tax, Shipping and Download files are managed from this section. You only need to make a drop box selection and press the GO button.
  2. Product Related Activities
This section allows you to Setup Product Features/Attributes, Edit/Delete Product Features, Add Products to your database and generate the HTML Link Code with our HTML LinkWizard!
  3. Orders/Transactions By Date
Get a complete listing of transactions for any date period you request. From this listing you can retrieve the exact Web Receipt your customer was shown and told to print - invaluable for fighting bogus chargebacks. New report options are added in response to Merchant Requests, so if you have a report need that we don't currently meet, please let us know! You also get a list of all orders that need to be authorized (for carts setup for non-live transactions. You settle/close transactions from this section too.
  4. Search Database Records
You have complete control of searching the various database tables that make up your relational database. Specifically, you can search the customer, order, order detail, product and payment table. When searching each table, you have a wide number of fields to search in. For example, for customers, you can search on: Customer ID, First Name, Last Name, Organization Name, Telephone, Email Address or Website URL. You will quickly be able to search and locate any record detail you need.
  5. View Database Records
Instead of Searching the Database, you can view or browse through every data table within the database. There is an abbreviated view and a complete table view. You'll find yourself browsing your business records on a regular basis.
  6. Off-line Order Processing
One very real advantage of the Web Merchant eCommerce Toolkit is that you no longer need to purchase credit card processing hardware or software - even if you opt to manually process your orders (instead of real-time) or if you receive off-line orders.
We provide you with two secure options for manual processing or off-line orders. Our eTerminal(tm) program allows you to manually submit credit cards for authorization and it adds the customer order to your relational database. The ChargeForm program allows for expedited card authorization processing without interacting with your relational database.

The command center for gaining access to your database files is our innovative system. You have total access and control of your business data.

Database
The Web Merchant eCommerce Toolkit ô and Toolbag ô includes your own complete relational database system that keeps track of customer, order, order detail, payment and product records. You will have complete control of your web order records, allowing you to better manage your business.

Your business database files may be downloaded (.dbf format) to your local personal computer and used with your current database or spreadsheet software.

Authorizations and Processing
If you are not offering internet real-time credit card authorizations, your customers are being needlessly inconvenienced, and you are doing a large amount of work unnecessary with our credit card processing system. The days of the manual imprinter or phone call authorizations are gone - join the cyber commerce method of charge card transaction processing TODAY!

With our innovative eCommerce Toolkit, Toolbag or eTerminal when your customer orders on-line, their credit card is authorized in real-time while they are placing the order. If the card is rejected, the customer is given the option to use another credit card or to pay by check. They know immediately if there is a problem with their payment.

Warning: There are many services claiming to be "real-time" who in fact only do "batch" processing at night. Additionally, be aware that almost without exception every real-time processor charges their own monthly fees, per transaction charges and discount rate on top of your normal merchant fees.

There are merchants who do not want live real-time processing of customer orders. This might be because the time period before shipping merchandise is long or they feel more comfortable manually processing payments. Whatever the reason, if you prefer to process your credit card payments manually, we provide a Virtual eTerminal for submitting charges.

Our eShopping Cart checkout and real-time payment servers use the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol for encryption. This means that credit card or checking account transactions are secure for browsers (Netscape, Internet Explorer, Mosaic, etc.) that support SSL. The actual processing server is located off the internet and connected by leased lines with the bank processors. You can be assured that your customer's payment information is secure during the authorization process.

International Orders
Because of the wide range of shipping methods we offer our merchants, combined with the ability to set shipping fees as desired, the variables for calculating international shipping costs become almost infinite. There is simply no way to create a system that will cover all eventualities. Therefore, we have created a somewhat unique system for allowing our merchants to accept international orders. It requires an extra step or two for processing such orders, but it allows us to continue to offer our merchants the flexibility to set shipping costs and methods as best suits their individual needs.

This order is an international order. It was processed as a NON-LIVE transaction. You NEED TO AUTHORIZE this transaction manually AFTER determining any shipping, customs, etc. charges that apply to this order. EDIT THIS ORDER to add the correct charges before submitting the card for authorization.

Our Proprietary FraudStop(tm) Prevention System. An Effective Anti-Chargeback & Fraud Program
We take fraudulent transactions very seriously and are committed to fight against on-line order fraud. Naturally, our primary motivation for fighting fraud is to protect you, our valued customer.

We also know that you, as a responsible merchant, are concerned about fraud being committed against your customers.

A final motivation originates from the societal-changing potential eCommerce will play in the next decade. We strive to contribute to the Worldwide Internet eCommerce engine by preventing any derailment caused by excessive and costly on-line order fraud.

Thus, we have one, if not the most, elaborate fraud prevention programs in place today. Our proprietary FraudStop(tm) prevention system offers five levels of protection against check and credit card fraud. You, our valued Merchant customer, can select what level of protection you desire. Our FraudStop(tm) system effectively minimizes your chargeback rate and protects your customers from potential fraudulent transactions against their credit cards.

The five levels of defense against fraudulent on-line purchases offered by our industry-leading FraudStop(tm) Prevention system are:

  1. Bogus Customer Email Addresses
Did you know that there are well over 1,000 domains that offer to set up a web based anonymous email address for free? Did you know that a very large percentage of On-Line Order Fraud stems from these anonymous free email services?
The first level of protection is that any customer submitting an on-line order be required to use their real email address provided by their local Internet Service Provider instead of an anonymous free web based address.
Each customer email address is instantaneously compared to the over 1,100 domains currently in our Domain Redflag database. The customer is returned to the previous screen with a polite message advising them...
Oops! We need you to use your real e-mail address provided by your dial-up ISP instead of a this free web-based email address. Because of the high percentage of fraud committed by persons using these free-web based services, we can not accept orders from such an email address.
  2. Address Verification System
Every credit card charge order we process verifies a customer's ability to provide the address and zip code that appears on credit card statement. Both Mastercard and Visa now require merchants to use this anti-fraud feature.
An order placed that fails the Address Verification is not rejected. Rather, you are notified of this failure in the order email notice sent whenever an order is placed so that you can take appropriate action to validate the order with the customer.
  3. Repetitive Charges Not Allowed
One ploy by mischievous persons is not to comment outright fraud, but to submit an order using the same credit card 10, 15 or however many times it can be submitted before the cards limit is reached. Although we find this nuisance a little tough to believe, it definitely happens and must be protected against.
We defend against this possibility by allowing the use of a credit card number only one time per respective merchant within a 24 hour period. We acknowledge that this might be an inconvenience for a very small number of customers, but we feel that the message displayed to the customer will avoid any negative feelings from arising:
We Are Sorry... As an anti-fraud strategy to protect our customers and business from costly and abusive repetitive charges against a specific credit that might have been stolen, we do not allow more than one charge against this card within a 24 hour period. If this is a legitimate transaction, we sincerely regret any inconvenience. Please use your Browser's back button and use a different credit card.
  4. I.P. Logging With ISP Follow-up
Every user logged into the internet has a unique ID number assigned to them while on-line. This is called the Internet Protocol Address. We capture this IP Address and store it in the order table of your relational database.
Like any address, the I.P. Address can be used to track down Internet Service Provider the individual used during the transaction. But it gets better... the provider could actually determine which person used that I.P. Address at the time of the fraudulent transaction.
As you might have guessed, the Internet Service Provider is under no obligation to reveal the name of the individual. We feel, however, that certain actions can be taken toward successfully tracking down the criminal.
Specifically, we are testing and will be adding as a standard feature of our Web Merchant eCommerce Toolkit (tm) a process that automatically identifies the Internet Service Provider and emails the Internet Service Provider a very effective letter that allows you to gain valuable information about the criminal without the ISP having to act contrary to disclosure policies. You can then contact and forward this information to the local police agency for prompt action.
  5. ChargeTrack Database (tm)
Any merchant accepting MO/TO charge payments knows the extent people go to get products or services at no cost. Some consumers abuse their "Charge Back" right by using it repeatedly to get items for free. Other consumers will knowingly use a relative's or friend's credit card to purchase goods, which later the relative or friend denies the charge was authorized - requiring a charge back against the merchant. And the most obvious is a stolen card not reported stolen.
For on-line merchants, the potential for this type of abuse is greater. These types of consumers will often time come back to the same web site or merchant, month after month. Inflicting a steady and painful flow of charge backs over time.
Our Web Merchant eCommerce Toolkit businesses can join together to protect each other from this type of repetitive and intentional abuse. When you experience one of these abuses, we ask that you report it to us using the ChargeTrack (tm) process available from your Web Merchant eManager.
If we all join forces to combat these types of intentional abuse of on-line credit card charges, our exclusive ChargeTrack Database (tm) can be of great benefit to every participating merchant.

Web Based Contact Centers
The new currency of business is information. The organization which has greatest control over the arsenal of data made available to it by new technology has a powerful competitive edge.

Contact Centers are productive information generators. Every second, another precious piece of knowledge is created. It may be an entry into a customer database, or a successful sale to add to an agent's performance record. Or another response to the latest mailing. The information is useless unless you can gather it effectively, extract meaning from it and then make informed decisions which boost the performance of the business.

The goal of every contact center is to increase the productivity and efficiency of the agent. Certainly, training and improved processes can have a major impact in this area. However, productivity can only be as good as the power put at the hands of the agent to complete the transaction. From the web based user-designed console eCommerce Tools has produced agent tools to provide flexibility, customization, and ease-of-use.
